“Not me!” you say. “I work off referrals and word of mouth marketing; I always work with people face to face.”
Well, that’s fantastic! Word of mouth and referrals are WONDERFUL ways to market yourself and gain high-quality clients. So *high fives* for that!
But…
How do people verify your credentials? How do they pull up your address or phone number when they need to meet you?
Think back to the last time you wanted to visit a local restaurant or boutique clothing shop late at night and were frustrated trying to figure out if and when they were open. How many tries did it take before you just gave up?
Wouldn’t you prefer that your customers’ first impression of you was how easily they were able to find all that information, maybe even some testimonials and additional information that could benefit them in one spot? One place where YOU have 100% control over the information? One place that has a nice headshot, a back story and a way for your clients to already start building a relationship with you?
And what if while finding your phone number they pop over to an article that educates them on the services you provide and makes that sale even easier?
Websites serve as your flag in the dirt in the internet world. You can claim your space, put any information you want out there and you will naturally show up when they search for you!
Even if you aren’t looking to gain business from the internet, I can’t stress enough how much you NEED TO HAVE A WEBSITE!
